The score

Zero mercy for fine print.
Every product lands somewhere on the same honest ladder, whether it is a granola bar or a kajal. Ultra-processed products are capped below A+ no matter how clean they look. The top tier is reserved for food that is actually close to food.
Some things fail instantly, whatever the math says: industrial trans fats, banned bleaching agents, lead-risk kajal without a published test, fragrance in internally-worn period products. We call these automatic fails, because some risks shouldn't be averaged away.

An ingredient being legal in India makes it legal. It doesn't make it safe. Veré starts where the rulebook stops. We deduct points for ingredients that are permitted but carry credible safety evidence, and we show you the citation right next to the score. The inverse discipline matters just as much: we never assert harm the evidence doesn't support.
